Roman Castle in the heart of Italy

Italy | Ref 33257

This stunning, medieval castle, consisting of the noble palace, the courtyard with the double staircase leading to the loggia, the beautiful gardens, and the large Nymphaeum grotto.

In 1300, the Apostolic Camera considered the fortress of Gallese essential for the protection of Rome. Initially a stronghold, it transformed into a castle with features suitable for both defense and as a prestigious residence for the secular and ecclesiastical feudal lords who governed the city with the consent of the Holy See.

During the 16th century, the castle underwent significant modifications to assume the appearance of a palace.

This splendid palace, located less than an hour from Rome, is rich in stories and legends, sung about by Stendhal.
